Add the sugar and water to a small pot. Scrape the contents of the vanilla bean out into the pot, then toss the bean husk in as well. Place the post over medium heat and bring it a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for another 20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature before transferring to an airtight jar. Store out of direct sunlight. Will keep for up to 1 month at room temperature and up to 3 months in the refrigerator.
Stir together the cold brew, milk, vanilla bean simple, and your desired amount of ice in a glass. Enjoy!
